Judges  Kimber Ludiker
KIMBER LUDIKER Kimber began fiddling at the age of three years, and at the age of four was named the youngest fiddler at the National Old-Time Fiddle Contest in Weiser, Idaho. Kimber has continued playing fiddle since then, also adding acoustic guitar and tenor guitar to her repertoire. She was the National Junior Champion in 2000, and in 2001 she went on to place in the top 10 of the Grand National Division. This year, Kimber won the 2002 Washington State Championship, and was hired as an instructor for the Holy Names Music Center on the Spokane Falls Community College Campus. She enjoys teaching fiddle and is very successful at inspiring others to enjoy fiddling as much as she does. Bob Mathews
When Bob was 5 years old, his parents took him to Weiser, Idaho, to the Nat’l Old-time Fiddle Contest. He thought it was the greatest thing that he had ever heard. Imagine his delight when they told him he could learn to play the violin when he was in 4th grade. He took to the instrument like a fish to water and has made teaching and playing the violin his life profession. Old-time fiddle is his passion. Bob has been teaching orchestra at East High and Carey Jr. High in Cheyenne, WY for the last 31 years. Bob joined the group with many impressive credentials, including being a 5-time Wyoming State Champion Fiddler and 2-time “Fanciest Fiddling” at Weiser Idaho. Bob has played with the infamous, Chugwater Philharmonic String Quartet +1, for the last 30 years. Bob has his pilot license, enjoys ham radio (K7FDL) and fly fishing.
 Rick Youngblood
Rick Youngblood, Regional President of Intermountain Community Bank. Idaho native, resides in Nampa with his wife Arlene where they raise and work their quarter horses. Active with guitar and fiddle at the Weiser Nationals since 1964 as accompaniment for father Dwayne Youngblood. Rick is a past National Men’s Fiddle Champion, quit competitive fiddling in 1995 to pursue business and personal interests. A two time National fiddle judge, and judge of six NW state contests Rick continues accompanying many national fiddle champions today. |
